An end to 2009

Wow. It's already December 31, 2009......Where did 2009 go?! So much has happened to our family this year. January started off with our fourth (and LAST) child coming into the world! Westin Riley Escher was born on January 14, 2009. From day one, he has been a wonderful baby. He has an amazing little personality and (surprisingly) he's very laid back. He only cries when he's hungry, tired, or sick. His big brothers and big sister love him to pieces and are so good with him. He is 11 months old now and he still has NO teeth, he DOESN'T crawl, and he WON'T eat solid foods!! (He eats baby foods, but that's it!) He drinks regular milk, though, and loves it!! He can also drink from his cup and sit by himself and roll all over the house! He's definitely a determined little boy!!

Earlier this year, we decided that we didn't want to live in our townhouse anymore. We quit paying our mortgage and called a short-sale realtor. We put our house on the market and that's when all the stress started!! Can I just say, selling your house has got to be one of the suckiest things in the world!! I hated the phone call that I would randomly get saying...."Someone would like to look at your house at 3pm today. Is that okay?" Really?? Number one, in order to get ready for a showing, you need to have a somewhat clean house. Then, I have to lock the cats up in a room and get the kids ready to leave. I also had to bring our oh-so-barky dog with us, too. So, cleaning, preparing, organizing all that in only a few hours time is NOT my idea of fun!! I cried so much when we first put our house on the market. I wanted to just give up. We were just about to take our house off the market when someone put an offer down on it in September!! Unfortunately, we had a Sheriff sale on our house, so it's officially NOT ours anymore, but we can techinially live here until March 17th 2010. (Unless the short sale goes through before then.)

So, in the midst of all this chaos, we decided that Jeff would try to get back into the Army. It took many long months, but he finally re-enlisted. What's funny is that he officially signed papers 2 days after he was laid off from his job at A.H. Bennett. He worked there as a drafter for over 4 years and they just laid him off......no notice.....nothing. But, he collects unemployment until he leaves on February 24th 2010. Then, I will be ALONE with 4 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog, and 1 turtle for 14 LONG WEEKS!!! Eeek!! .........But, I hope it will go by quickly and smoothly! We are moving out of our townhouse on February 1st into another townhouse........It just so happens that we get to be next door neighbors to one of my dearest friends! She's moving tomorrow and we will follow in a month! So, hopefully we can help each other out a little bit!! Until then, though, I am working as many hours as I can at Timber Lodge Steakhouse and Jeff is spending lots of time with the kids! It works out well for now. I figured if I started a blog before Jeff leaves, then it will give me something to keep me occupied and it will be a way for everyone else to keep tabs on how we are doing!

I would love to write more, but being a mom of 4 kids means being busy with silly little things all day long! I need to go get my chicklets some lunch. Hopefully, I will write more soon!

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year's Eve and I wish for 2010 to be an even better year for everyone! I love you all!! XOXO
